Dutch silver brandy bowl

Pieter Jacobs Clinckhamer

Harlingen, 1681

209 grams; 23.5 cm wide

Pieter Jacobs Clinckhamer’s maker’s mark, a hammer, refers to his name. He was trained in the workshop of the Harlingen silversmith Jan Dirksen Roorda from 1 November 1661 and later, as a master, made a variety of silver objects, that can now be found in museums, churches and private collections.
